Council Award Nominations
The Gulf Stream Council is proud to annually recognize Scouts and Scouters for their commitment, dedication and service to the Scouting programs. All recipients of these awards are based on nominations by their peers, out of mutual respect and appreciation for their volunteerism.
Nominations are due by January 26th, 2025!
Silver Beaver
The Silver Beaver Award was established in 1931 and is the highest award that may be presented by a local council to recognize Scouters for distinguished service to youth.
The award may be presented by the Gulf Stream Council annually to recognize a Scouter for their commitment and years of service to Scouting and our youth.

Bob Peters Excellence in Leadership Award
Bob Peters served Scouting for over 50 years, consistently providing unique leadership to others by inspiring innovation and excellence through two personal mottos: "Do your best" and “Make it better.”
This award is unique to the Gulf Stream Council and may be presented annually to recognize a Scouter who has given outstanding leadership within Scouting and exemplifies the legacy of Bob Peters.

Mike Machek Spirit of Scouting Award
Mike Machek served Scouting in many ways but considered his role as "Scoutmaster" to be the best avenue to inspire youth and adults to embody the Scout Oath & Law in their daily lives and to carry out the mission of Scouting.
This award is unique to the Gulf Stream Council and may be presented annually to recognize a Scouter who embodies the Spirit of Scouting and exemplifies the legacy of Mike Machek.

Ray Weaver Commissioner Service Award
Ray Weaver understood the importance of the Scouting program and the influence a trained and effective Commissioner could have on Scouting through sustained acts of leadership, friendship, and service to units and leaders.
This award is unique to the Gulf Stream Council and may be presented annually to recognize a Commissioner who has given outstanding service to Scout units and leaders and exemplifies the legacy of Ray Weaver.

Dr. Tom Sturrock Good Scouter Award
Dr. Tom Sturrock dedicated his Scouting career to the development of strong adult leaders through basic and advanced training programs, the foundation to which Scout leaders ensure an excellent Scouting program.
This award is unique to the Gulf Stream Council and may be presented annually to recognize a Scouter who has contributed significantly towards training leaders and exemplifies the legacy of Tom Sturrock.

Brian Morgan Spirit of Scouting Youth Award
Brian Morgan believed in the purpose of Scouting, and through his passion for prioritizing youth leadership and Scout Spirit, he encouraged youth to have fun and enjoy every moment of Scouting.
This award is unique to the Gulf Stream Council and may be presented annually to recognize a youth leader who embodies the Spirit of Scouting and exemplifies the legacy of Brian Morgan.
