Gilwell Society

Gulf Stream Council Gilwell Society is accepting membership for the 2018 calendar year. Membership in the Gilwell Society costs $15.00 per year and includes the course flap (picture to be posted shortly). This flap is ONLY available to Gilwell Society members. The purpose of the Gulf Stream Council Gilwell Society is to provide meaningful and practical avenues for continued service to Scouting at a local level, encouraging and supporting completion of Wood Badge tickets and related contributions that benefit youth, and for strengthening the bonds of friendship and fellowship among all Scouters.

Society membership requires a Scouter to maintain registration in the Boy Scouts of America and members must have completed a Wood Badge course and their ticket in the allotted time frame.

is pleases to announce the annual

Greetings to all Critters

The Gilwell Society is proud and excited to tell you that we have made some terrific changes to the upcoming annual Wood Badge Reunion Event.  This is a first for the Reunion so you do not want to miss it.  You can register on-line through the Council website.  Go to the Alumni page, then Gilwell Society.  Or just go here

AND at the same time, you can JOIN the Gilwell Society, or RENEW your membership for 2018.  All of this can be done on that same form.  (all of this in about 2 minutes)

The date is March 10, 2018.  It will be held at the Learning Center at Gilwell Field on beautiful Tanah Keeta Scout Reservation.  It is going to be a BBQ Luncheon. Uniform is not required but nice to see. Cost this year is going to be $15.00.  Gathering time will be at 11:30 with lunch at Noon.  Rides from the TK Welcome Shelter to Gilwell will be available for those who wish.  Many Awards and Recognitions will be presented during this Luncheon.

Prior to the lunch, we will have a Wood Badge Service Day to prepare and setup Gilwell for the Wood Badge Course S4-85-18.  We will begin work on Gilwell at 8:30. For those who like, camping will be available in your Gilwell Critter camp site the night before; Friday March 9th.  Fun and Fellowship around the campfire will be had that night.  Camping will be “FREE”.  But please rsvp to so we can make a proper roster and follow all of the TK policies.  We will continue our work after the Luncheon if necessary.  Many critters will make lite the work.

We will also be honoring the 10th Anniversary of SR-906 which was Nick Nickerson’s course.  There will also be a Plaque presented to honor the Black Fox Patrol who built Gilwell Field 10 years ago.  Election results and Swearing in of New Officers will be accomplished.  There may also be a demonstration of one of the new presentations of the course and maybe even a Beading.  We will probably even sing “The Song”.

Pass the word around to other Critters in your District.  This is going to be an Event not to be missed.
