Our Gulf Stream Council has been around since 1914 and over the past years, there have been several individuals who have made contributions to the council that have warranted honors. These men are being honored through the new GSC Jacket Emblem. The Tom T Sturrock Good Scouter Award recognizes a Scouter who has made an outstanding contribution to training leaders and/or has helped enhance the Scouting program. A Commissioner is a friend of the unit and does whatever he can to help that unit to be successful. Ray Weaver exemplified the qualities of a good commissioner and the council is pleased to award the Ray Weaver Commissioner Award to a Scouter who follows in his footsteps. Mike Machek lived the Scout Oath and Law in his daily life and was an inspiration to literally thousands of Scouts in his troop and fellow Scouter’s with whom he came in contact. Gulf Stream Council awards the Mike Machek Scouting Spirit Award in his name. George Buck was the ultimate Scoutmaster. The Buck’s Memorial Color Guard Patch is awarded to unit’s whose Color Guard completes the requirements at Tanah Keeta Scout Reservation. John Leasor was Sea Scout Skipper of Gulf Stream Council for many, many years. The John Leasor Sea Scout Regatta was named in his honor.

The M.E. Rinker National Scout Shop is located at 8335 N. Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens, Fl 33410, which is ½ mile south of Northlake Blvd on the west side of the street.
From I-95, exit at Northlake Blvd and travel west to Military Trail and south ½ mile on the right.
