Overwhelming response is expected due to the first jamboree at our own
NEW National High Adventure Camp in West Virginia. You will need to
apply early to ensure your place in line, as the limited
slots - three troops - will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you speak to anyone that has ever attended a National Jamboree you will learn one thing.  IT WAS THE EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME.  The 2013 Jamboree will, for the first time, be held on Boy Scout property in the Hills of West Virginia.  The Council is sending 3 Troops to this event.  That means 108 scouts.  26 have already made their deposit and have guaranteed their space on the roster.

We are now looking for Scoutmasters.  We will be accepting resumes till 11/15/11.  Resumes should be emailed to the 2013jambo@att.net email.  The requirements are already on the fact sheet but here it is again:
 The Scoutmaster must have served as a Scoutmaster for at least one year during the three-year period prior to July 1, 2013, completed Youth Protection training, Scoutmaster Basic Training, and Wood Badge for the 21st Century

Proposed Itinerary

Because the Jamboree is more than 2 years away it is impossible to finalize contracts with all of our potential vendors.  We are confident that this plan in its entirety is reflective of the final trip.

Fly from Palm Beach International Airport to Cleveland.
Visit Military Museum on the Lake
Attend Baseball game at Indian Stadium
Drive to Cedar Pointe Amusement Park and check into hotel

Saturday July 13, 2013
Fun Day at Cedar Pointe Amusement Park

Sunday July 14, 2013
Leave by bus heading south towards the Bechtel Scout Reservation at the Sumitt
Each Scout will have the option of one ½ day high adventure opportunity

  • White Water Rafting on the Gauley
  • Tree Top Zip Line
  • Steam engine locomotive ride through the hills of West Virginia

Enter the Bechtel Scout Reservation at the Sumitt for ten days of fun, comradeship and scouting
