Camp Dark Hammock
Camp Dark Hammock is leased by the Gulf Stream Council to provide natural Florida wilderness camping for Troops, Crews, or Explorer Posts only. It is located northeast of Okeechobee City in Okeechobee County.
Reservations can be made by completing the Reservation Request form and emailing it to firstname.lastname@example.org. Once completed, the reservation form must be e-mailed in Word Format no later than two weeks before departure.
To get to Camp Dark Hammock from State Road 710:
Approximately 1 ½ miles from the intersection with County Rd 714, turn right onto SE 128 Ave (Berman Rd).
In approximately 9 miles there is a stop sign at the intersection of State Rd 70. Cross State Rd 70 and you are on NW 128 Ave.
In approximately 4 ½ miles, turn left onto NE 120 St.
Camp Dark Hammock will be 2 miles on the left.
To get to Camp Dark Hammock from State Rd 70:
At the intersection of State Rd 70 and NE 128 Ave, is a gas station on the southeast corner. Turn right onto NE 128 Ave.
In approximately 4 ½ miles there is a stop sign. Turn Left.
Camp Dark Hammock will be two miles on your left.
To get to Camp Dark Hammock coming south on US 441:
Turn left unto NE 144 St at the flashing caution light at the intersection.
Camp Dark Hammock will be about 9 ¾ miles on the right.
To get to Camp Dark Hammock from Okeechobee on US 441:
Proceed north on US 441 to NE 144 St at the flashing yellow light at the intersection. Turn right. Camp Dark Hammock will be 9 ¾ miles on the right.
