"Award Eagle Kit" News Update

In the past Gulf Stream Council has purchased for new Eagle Scouts the "Award Eagle Kit".  This kit contains the Eagle rank patch, the metal Eagle ribbon and the mom and dad pins.

Effective January 10, 2010 the Council will no longer make this purchase.  The Unit is now responsible for the purchase of the kit just like any other advancement. The National BSA office will supply the Eagle Certificate as always.

To order the kit:

The kit can be ordered through the Scout Shop which keeps a limited supply of these kits at all times. Make sure to order or purchase the kit a few weeks prior to the Eagle presentation to be guaranteed the kit will be available.  The order number is #14124 and the name of the kit is "Award Eagle Kit".  The cost for this kit is $26.08 including tax.

June 2009

Please note that the Council Service Center is no longer able to accept emailed or faxed copies of registration applications.   The National Office is requiring that all applications be received with the applicants or parent/guardians original signature.

Additionally please do not send faxes/emails including applications noting that the originals are being sent.  This only adds to the paperwork to be reviewed and slows down the process when we have emails/faxes that need to be matched with originals.

Thank you all for helping us implement this change.

Commissioners Corner

Commissioners are friends to the Scout Units. A link between the Unit and Council and a great resource for information. This past year Trade Winds Unit Commissioners had a fantastic attendance record for Roundtable and support at District and Council events.

If you need additional information regarding Commissioner Services or need an update on your Unit Commissioner please contact Steve Whalen http://netcommish.com/ Ask Andy is a great read.
