Silver Beaver Awards (132 KB)

Every year the Silver Beaver Award is presented to volunteers in our Council at the Annual Banquet.

These are people who go above and beyond what is expected in Scouting at the Council level and is the highest award that a Council can bestow on a volunteer

An anonymous committee of volunteers review the nominations and select the recipients who will fill the limited number of available openings.

There are many deserving volunteers who will only be considered for this award if their peers take the time to complete a nomination form.

Please refer to the attached list of past recipients and do not assume that a deserving person has already received the award.

There are many deserving Scouters who no one has taken the time to nominate.

The nomination form is also attached and should be returned to Nancy Gettys at the Council Service Center no later than November 12, 2010.

Norman Ginsberg

Silver Beaver Nomination Committee Chair

Both attachments can be found on the Forms Page of the Council website at www.gulfstreamcouncil.org

Lighthouse Eagle Board of Review Process

All Eagle Applications go to the Registrar at the Council Service Center for review and approval before a Board can be scheduled. Only applications submitted by the first Monday of the month will be considered for a board on the third Monday of the month. If your application is correct and accepted by Friday of the first week, expect a call to schedule your board.

Please note: For Eagle Boards: Only your original Eagle Scout application goes to the service center for approval. No projects or packages are to go to the Council Service Center. You will be bringing everything else with you to your Board of Review except your approved original application.

Project review boards are scheduled directly through Glenn Alexander. These requests will be accepted through the first Monday of the month. To request a board please call 561-575-2489 or email samalex964@bellsouth.net . Leave a message with your name, telephone number and Unit (Troop) #.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and patience. I'm sure we'll have some opportunities for improvement so work with me. Any questions or problems feel free to contact me directly.

Yours In Scouting

Glenn P. Alexander
Lighthouse District Eagle Board Chairman

Uniform Closet: Please consider donating your son's gently used uniforms (all ranks), hats, pins, patches, badges, belt loops, books, and other scouting materials to benefit our new multicultural units throughout the council as well as to assist families that may be experiencing financial difficulties. Let's all do whatever we can to remove barriers to scouting for families in our areas.
You can bring any materials to your monthly Roundtable meetings or drop them off at the council offices in the Rinker Center inside the ScoutShop in Palm Beach Gardens. The contact person is Romney Baldwin, Program Specialist for the Gulf Stream Council. You can reach her at 561-694-8585 ext. 248 or Romney.Baldwin@scouting.org to make other drop off arrangements. A scout is
helpful. A scout is kind. A scout is thrifty. Thank you for helping other scouts in need.

YIS, Romney
